Does the stock market open on weekends?


I just wanted to know if the stock market opens on weekends.

United States stock market is open only Monday thru Friday. Saturday and Sunday the stock market is closed. The market officially begins trading at 9:30 a.m. eastern standard time, and closes at 4:00 p.m eastern standard time. There are some companies that trade prior to 9:30 a.m. for pre market trading and there are some companies that trade after 4:00 p.m eastern standard time for after market trading. The U.S. market is compiled of the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq Global Markets, Nasdaq Capital Markets, American Stock Exchange, Over the Counter Bulletin Board and Pink Sheets Exchange.
Assuming you are talking about the NY stock market, there are no weekend trading hours.

That does not mean that there are not other markets open around the world, however.
Stock market only runs from Monday to Friday.
Market is open from monday to friday only, not on weekend.
