If someone purchased Sara Lee shares back in the 60s how much are they worth today? Prior to 1985 Sara Lee was known as Consolidated Foods. Same company but different name. Without doing a lot of research into the number of stock splits that have transpired since the 1960s, it is save to say that on an adjusted stock split basis a share today would have cost somewhere in the range of $0.25 back in the 1960s depending on what period of the 1960s you might be referring to. The market reached a peak in 1968 and did not actually recover fully until the 1980s. A lot. Looking at the stock price at the chart at the source below, it was about $2 a share in the 80's & is up to almost $20 now & it's split 4 times. I can't imagine how much it's gone up in the 20 years before that. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=sle&t=my... Doesnt matter if you bought the stock in 1940 or yesterday... the stock is worth 17.52 per share. Now this is assuming common stock and there were not splits etc. But one share is worth 17.52. You have to check your class of stock and see if it's still good. Thats along time to have stock and not know what type you have. Call a stock broker he will be happy to cash those in for you for a commission. Im on the futures side of the market so I dont follow this. http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/opt...
