Moving to Ireland - banks etc?

I am thinking of moving to Ireland - I already have a job offer and will be living somewhere in South Dublin. I'm looking for recommendations on things I will need to set up over there. Which Bank to use in particular...but also anything I might not have thought of, like any tax savings possible etc. I am a little surprised at the amount of tax that will be taken from salary. I think I will end up with about 鈧?,000 net per month. Is that a comfortable salary in Dublin, I hear nights out aren't exactly cheap there!
And advice appreciated!

You'll love this place especially culture and people. It's been 4 yrs for me here and absolutely love it. Now I've to move to london for career reasons but I know I gonna miss it.
Bank - choose any one - AIB or BOI. Get ur accomodation sorted out, try doing that before coming here - best website www.daft.ie . If net salary is 2000 i.e. u r still in 20% tax band which isn't bad. It will hurt when u reach 40% tax band. But tax in UK also are same. Can't complain. A few years experience outside Ire, and then coming back here can do wonders to ur career.
Good thing is - all rented accomodation are fully furnished, with all electricity, cable, internet, gas connections already in place for you. And u don't have to go into the hassles of transferring those to ur name. Once u hav accomodation rest can be learned when u r here.
Tax - ur employer will deduct tax at source.
Garda registration - once u reach here u have to get registered with Garda (police) here within 3 months.
PPS number - the number from the tax guys. U hav to apply for it and u'll need ur passport and proof of residence. If u don't get this sorted out in the first month ur employer has to deduct tax at emergency tax rate i.e. 40%, which will be refunded once u get urself registered.
