I am a US-born American citizen. I am eligible for the Irish citizenship as well. What benefits would I get?

If I were to become an Irish citizen and, thus, hold citizenship for both the U.S. and Ireland, are there any Irish or Euro tax or health benefits that I would then be eligible for? For example, would I be eligible for health benefits if I were traveling in Ireland and fell sick and needed to see a doctor or go to a hospital? Is there something like social security that I would be eligible for? And more...? Thank you.

With an EU passport, you will be able to travel and work anywhere within the EU.

Also, Ireland is a Commonwealth country. That gives you certain rights and privileges within the British Commonwealth of Nations.

You will be eligible for education, health care and social security too.
