I am currently renting private accomodation in Ireland. I am told I can claim back the tax at the end of the year. From what I can gather I need reciepts with my Landlords name, PPS number, address and the amount of money paid (and the time it covers). I have kept all the reiepts from the lodgements that I am making straight to her bank each month but these obviously only have the the amount on and no signatures or anything like that. Do I need to ask my landlord personally for some sort of reciept every month? I hope not cuz she's totally useless and does sod all for us.
Do you not have a citizens advice in Ireland that gives free advice. You bank statement should be proof that money is going out to her. Here in the UK our bank account statement is proof that money has gone into someone elses account. We pay our rent each month by direct debit to the agent- it shows up on our bank statement and we do not get a receipt. |
