I won my employment tribunal case today, How do I enforce payment? |
I went to an employment tribunal today as I was unfairly dismissed from my receptionist job. The respondent claimed they were making me redundant. I won unfair dismissal. The tribunal order my ex bosses to pay me just short of 拢3000 The only problem is now getting my payment. My bosses clearly sted when leaving your not having that we can't afford it. They then joked at 拢5 per week and laughed at me. I know they do have the money to pay me. How do I go about enforcing this payment, I know it would be something to do with a county court? I am in the UK, England. Transcribe the award to a judgment in the county courts your former employers are residents or keep bank accounts and start issueing garnishment. That is what I would do in the US, but I am not sure what terms you use in the UK. There should be forms available for purchase. Or go find a collection attorney. ;) Ccollection attorneys work for 30% contingent fees plus costs. If you really want to stick it to someone those guys are experts and finding people and making them pay, dearly. Good luck! I would contact a solicitor in the UK. Here in the states, I would recommend putting a lien on something they own. I don't know if you can do that in the UK. |
