The difference between a paralegal certification and paralegal associates degree?

What is the difference between a paralegal certification, which is a program less than a year, and a paralegal associates degree, which takes two years to complete?

Many paralegal certificate programs are post-graduate study, meaning, you already have a B.S.

If you already have a degree of some sort (Associates or Bachelors), the certificate will probably meet your needs. If you have no college degree at all, you will probably have a harder time finding a job with just a certificate, unless you have a significant amount of experience.

Either way, make sure the program you choose is ABA Approved. Many law firms won't even talk to you with outan ABA paralegal certificate. Source(s): http://www.aafpe.org/
