I havean associates in criminal justice and bout to go back to school for sociology and journalism, Do you know any careers i can utilize them degrees and get paid over 50,000 a year
A criminal justice degree is for law enforcement (the courts, local & state police, military, defense department, justice department/US marshalls, homelande security, CIA, FBI, AFT, INS, or ICE) and if that's what you want to do, you should look for government work because that's where you'll get the 50K+ you are looking for. ***Keep in mind, that within those organizations, there's a variety of positions (research, program management, proposal reviews, compliance). I once had a job where I was running an after school arts program in Texas, which was a joint venture between parks and the police departments.
Private sector jobs which are more versatile with education background and qualifications, where you could use a CrimJus degree (such as research associate), probably won't pay you as much as you want.
But, because you have an associates degree and are about to ditch criminal justice for journalism...you should focus on what you really want to do, focus your job search on what truly interests you, for job satisfaction sake. |
