Why would a top clinical recruiting firm put you to work without having any paperwork on you? |
and without doing a background check? Are they desperate for the money? I'm trying to see things from their point of view, and I have no experience in recruiting. True story--this is a "contract" position--and they wanted to start me "today"---and said they'll Fed-Ex drug test paperwork this week--and if I don't pass, what they'll do is terminate my contract. Currently, I have no contract. I have signed nothing. They haven't even checked my references---they only have my resume. Something doesn't feel right about this. I would really like your opinion. Thanks! If it doesn't feel right, then it probably isn't. Watch your back with this company. Okay, let's get this straight. Are you working for the recruiting company or their client? That is a key question. If you are working for their client, then the recruiter doesn't need all the legal/hiring paperwork. They may be trying to get their client a productive employee as fast as possible. It's not always smart, but it isn't that unusual, for companies to extend an offer of employment or even have the employee start working contingent on drug/background test results. If they're desperate (not for the money, but for someone to start doing the job - they won't get paid until you pass all the tests) and you don't have needle tracks on your arms, they may feel with's a risk worth taking. :) |
