Whom should I contact...?

I had an issue with an employer a couple of years back in my home Country. This has implications on my employment here in the US. What kind of lawyers might be able to help me out? I only seek legal counselling (not litigation) on the best course of action.

Do I approach Employment lawyers for this? Or are they called Civil Lawyers?

Depending on the Country, I would seek an Immigration or Employment attorney -- probably would start with an Immigration attorney, as they would be more familiar with working with other Countries.

Depending on the issue, you may want to contact an attorney in your home Country.

Try the Findlaw website (www.findlaw.com) where you can select Employmee Rights or Immigration Rights for the attorney and submit your problem (be detailed) and they will help you find an attorney.
