Help. I have a BA in management since 2003, I can't find a job. The ones that I find are basically dead end. |
I also have a Paralegal certificate, I have found temp works in paralegal, nothing perm. I relocated to Georgia in Feb. of 2006, same thing. My resume was done by a professional, still no solid job. Finally, I got a temp job which lasted for 7 months. Meanwhile, I have a home to pay. No job not even at Walmart. Where do I go from here? p.s. I forgot to say that I was trained as a patient care tech, where do I go with that? I have a RE License in GA, real estate market extremely slow everywhere. Any advice will do. If any of you can give me some leads I'll be forever grateful. Thanks. GJ When we lose our jobs or lose our status the thing to remember is not to get upset, become bitter or resentful, or lash out and blame others. After we have dried our tears, we have to bounce back, accept the loss, reinvent ourselves and move on. Perhaps, we need to change our attitudes and shift our paradigms; perhaps we need to confront our values, or learn new skills. Perhaps, we need to get honest feedback on our performance, on our work behaviors and attitudes to identify our strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement. Perhaps we need to retool ourselves. Perhaps we need to leave our present organization when we are no longer happy and fulfilled in what we are doing. When we find ourselves in this situation we have to plan our career. Career planning is a deliberate process of knowing WHO we are so that we can be sure WHERE we want to go or WHAT we want to be at some defined point in the future. It involves an analysis of career/job options that are new to you. Career analysis is based on accurate, valid and timely information from --- reading, interviewing primary resources persons and direct observation of those persons while doing their job. "dead end" jobs pay the bills. the companies that hire folk into dead end jobs know in advance that they'll lose the folk when a better job is found somewhere else ... and don't care. {Btw, Georgia is a big state ... if you're living in rural Plains, GA the job market is likely pretty small. if you're in the urban Atlanta area, there are tens of thousands of potential employers.
