Future Career? |
I'm really interested in becoming a lawyer when I grow up. My dad is a financial lawyer and I asked him a lot of questions how to become one. I know there's many kinds of lawyers, (divorce, financial, etc,) but I'm not sure, because I need to major in something first. I am 13 now, and I also know that in order to be a lawyer, you need to be successful in school in all aspects (science, math, english, history). I work hard and last year I earned all A's with an exception of one B+ in history. I am determined to reach this goal of mine, Can anyone give me more tips that I can use? Also, am I on my way to being a lawyer? Thanks. Have a good day!! Congratulations, it sounds like you're well on your way. Schooling is the most important, of course, and maintaining good grades will help you to get into a better school. But the best schools look for more than just good grades. They are looking for a well-rounded individual, so you need to be in sports or play an instrument or volunteer in the community or something similar. If you can get on the debate team in school, it will help you to polish up your speaking skills, which will go a long way on becoming a lawyer. Go for it! You have the right attitude. Stay in school & study hard. Good luck! I think you're on your way. You can be whatever you want to be. Getting good grades is the first step in giving you the choice of what you want to be. Since you're pretty young now, I suggest you keep looking into all these interesting fields while you continue to apply yourself in school. It's nice to have a choice. Today if you don't go to college, you can almost bet that you'll end up working in retail or something else that's hard work and low paying. Even a college degree today doesn't guarantee much. Hard work on your part will be required to go to and get through law school. Then you'll be able to choose what YOU want to do. I didn't finish college and it's one of my biggest regrets. Fortunately, it was a long enough time ago that I was still able to get a decent job due to the fact that I had a propensity for computers. When I first started using them, few people could and so I was able to get along and ahead by my computer knowledge. Today most everyone knows how to use a computer well enough to do a decent job. I had found a field that I liked and frankly my interest in computers had been what kept me going. I've had to learn new software and hardware all the time. Since I'm still interested in this, it's helped me evolve in my field. It's also kept my work interesting. You'll do fine. Be assured that as long as you work hard and apply yourself, you'll have lots of exciting choices. Good luck to you! Finish high school first. Your mind can still change. When the time comes you have a great career consultant in your Dad. Peace and blessings! oh cool i already have a job and i love it i have a job as a fashion desiner and i get payed $900 dollars a month i always wanted to be one when i was a little girl i made my own fashion book i drew sketches and then when i became 16 i showed my sketches of clothes and i got hierd |
