Stole from my employer?

I stole about 700.00 worth of supplies from my employer im not getting fired and not calling the cops on me he is going to punish me himself but wants some suggestions as to how anybody have any ideas im keeping my job so guess its going to be harsh

This boss is obvious a man of principle. You should repay the company the cost of purloined supplies. Things like trust and respect are hard to earn; but, once lost, they are even more difficult to regain.

I would recommend that you perform some activity that helps to mold your character in a positive manner. Perhaps some type of volunteer work would be in order. Are there any civic or community service opportunities available in your area?

During this volunteer period, keep a log of your activities and your interactions with your fellow volunteers. At the end of your service, write about how such service has positively impacted your life and those with whom you served. Forty hours of service should do you鈥攁nd the community鈥攁 world of good.
you must have on heck of a boss and you can count your lucky stars you are not in jail. i think i would require you to come up with at least 10 ways to make your job more efficient or ways to improve my company's bottom line. this sounds like a easy task -- until you actually have to do it. ground rule you can budget money forr the improvements but the improvement has to paid fo it self -- good luck and start thinking.
Your boss shouldn't put you in a position where you have the opportunity to steal $700.00 worth of supplies. I'd keep an EXTRA close eye on you. Just what were the supplies?
Be glad he didn't fire you and have you arrested.
I assume that you are working in an office so here is what I would do if I were your boss: I would do one or more of the following...
(1) You have to pay the $700.00 back with interest.
(2) You would be demoted to secretary's helper until the $700.00 is repaid.
(3) You lose all remaining paid vacation hours for this year. Vacation time is a privilege given to employees and is not a legal requirement by the government...before anyone says I can't do that.
(4) You will provide your own supplies until the $700.00 + interest is paid in full. If the supply cabinet is empty and a fellow employee needs something you will provide it from your own stash and not backcharge the company for it. Hopefully this will make you very aware of the expenses involved for supplies.
(5) You will buy lunch at least twice a month for a meeting between yourself, your boss, the HR rep, and the person who orders supplies to discuss your progress.
You have a very tolerant employer. If you stole from me, you'd be history.

You don't say what kind of company you work at or what you do there. Your employer can't do anything illegal like make you work for no pay - although he could have you work after hours, doing menial tasks like cleaning toilets or sweeping floors, and pay you at minimum wage. The difference between the minimum wage and your regular wage could be the payback (with interest, of course) for the $700.00.

He could also ask you to do work for other employees who have jobs similar to yours, while they sit and watch you. Or perhaps you could be the "go-fer" for your fellow employees for a week or so - serve them lunch, get their coffee for them, shine their shoes while they're on break, etc.

Perhaps you could write "I will not steal from my employer" 700 times on the conference room white board, where your photo could also be prominently displayed.

Don't do anything this stupid again, ok?
