What is the purpose of the citizenship requirements as regards to the recruitment & placement of workers? Legal workers have the proper documents for the employer to properly withhold their taxes and other stuff. FICA Income tax Retirement fund Health insurance If they don't provide a REAL SS number and other documents... then if the funds are withheld... there's no way to credit the FICA, retirement or insurance to the correct person... and no way to prove which claimant is the one who really owns the SS number when there's 2 (or more) people applying for benefits. Also... if SS records show someone is working, by there being regular FICA withholding credited to the account... you might end up with someone who legitimately belongs on disability getting sent to jail for fraud. (Working and claiming total disability at the same time) Essentially... illegal workers mess up things for people who do things legally. ************** Illegal aliens should all be rounded up and deported. They are here in violation of federal law. that makes them criminals by definition. If it wasn't unconstitutional... I would support branding them on the forehead as "INS Deportee" so they could be easily spotted if they came back... and it would be easy to deny them entry by legal means... for just cause. Immigration law says that if you have been deported... don't bother applying for legal entry... you can't get it. i dont know, someone should ask the government tat For the US, it's to ensure that US companies are not displacing American citizen by offering employment to undocumented foreign nationals. |
