Do you hate it when employers lead you on then give the job to another? |
I just went through an ordeal where an employer kept alluding to the fact that I was an excellent candidate. He even emailed me a message telling me the salary and asking me to email him if I was still interested, which I did. Well, I did not get the job. It hurts because the employer was the reason I put too much hope in this position. I will try to be more careful next time. Never put all of your eggs in one basket! Yes. It happened to me about a month ago. I apllied for this front desk job at a hotel. After my interview, they told me to buy some black closed toe shoes, since I was most likely getting the job. Well I bought them. The employer called me a few days later and told me my interveiw went wonderful and he thought i was perfect for the job. Then he goes on to tell me that he "regrets to inform me that i didn't get the job". I cryed for a brief second, and then returned the ugly shoes. don't count your chickens before they hatch. Be sure to select a best answer so Free Spirit^ doesn't get it. Keep in mind that the employer may not have been leading you on. You may have been a Great candidate -- but the other person was just a tiny bit better for some reason. I would contact the employer, and indicate that in an effort to improve your skills, you would like to know what you can do better the next time. |
