Can you help me with my resume? |
Hi I am a Law student, and I want to apply for internship in Law firms. But I am confused as to what should I include in my resume, because being just a student is a big limitation. Should I tell that this is my first ever chance of interacting with a law firm, or shouldn't I? I've been in your position before with getting a foot in the door with an internship in a field I had zero experience in. Here's what I recommend: Convey the knowledge you have through the education section. Indicate the school and program you're in. In that same section list the classes you've completed (e.g. "family law, tort law, criminal law, and contract law"). Then, through describing your job experience and your skills and abilities, indicate the qualities you have that a law firm is looking for in interns. Also, if you participate in extracurricular activities like a law student association, you need to include that, too. That'll show you have a more depth and commitment to the practice of law. You do not need to explain that you've never interacted with a law firm before and it's probably assumed. There's nothing wrong with that as you have not yet had the chance to start build your legal career. Just be professional in your resume and in your behavior. Keep it honest. keep it simple. give just the basics and not the whole story of your life. that is what the interview is all about..the seek more information on yourself -- then according to the circumstances you be the judge -- if the question is legitimate or not. that is my advice. hope it helps. nice major to study .. good luck with it .. i believe that companies hire people who are able to give .. so when you do your resume make your objective or say when you the interview that you are seeking to develop your work experience and able to give the best you can just to get the job perfectly done .. Yes, I think you should keep it honest. Have you thought about being a CASA volunteer? That would give you legal experience!!!! |
