Is it more respectable to be a trial lawyer than to be a corporate lawyer?

My family thinks Corporate lawyering is crap. Is it? I use to be a trial lawyer, but now im going to be a corporate lawyer

How many lawyer jokes have you heard about corporate lawyers?
Corporate law is better paid. If your family argue show them your new Porsche in a few months time.
when were lawers respected in the first place?
Being a lawyer as a profession is a noble task provided that you folow the ethics lawyers were taught in their classrooms before taking the bar...Corporate or Trial one can always be respected in both fields so long as you do your job witht he intentions of service....truth... justice....So I think both can be respectable....or both can be not....depends on what kind of lawyer you wanna be...
Your family is wrong. It is trial lawyers that are the scum of the earth.
Corporate lawyers make the big $$$. People think they are more grimy because they are out to protect big businesses, but everyone has the right to protect their assets and investments, even the wealthy corporations.

The lawyers people hate the most seem to be:
Defense attorneys:because they defend the accused
Trial lawyers: because they sue people and some are frivolous
Corporate attorneys: because they protect the big businesses

Corporate lawyers make more because they are always paid up by the business. The trial lawyers seem like they make more money when they sue the big businesses and the defense attys make chump change (compared to the others)unless they are high profile.

I respect all lawyers because somebody has to do it, and we all need them one day for one reason or another: estate atty, tax atty, criminal atty, defense atty, trial atty, immigration atty, whatever we need you. Good luck in school
You will have to learn to spell and improve the way you express yourself. Perhaps law isn't your cup of tea.
