lawyer wanted I applied to circle K for a job, then worker said they would not hire me cause of my beard, I heard this was illegale ,,so I am looking for a lawyer in oxnard California to take my case if we win he gets paid % if not he does not get paid You can file a claim of discrimination in employment with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (no lawyer needed) on the basis of religious discrimination. There is no cost to file a complaint, and they will investigate it for you. Look on the internet for the EEOC office nearest to you. just shave and then re-apply I think the beard was an excuse.................You can't even spell *illegal* yet want to work in a Lawyer's??? want a job, shave it is an employers choice, you are representing that company working with the general public and appearance is an important part of that job. Hi dont know about the USA but it is legal in the UK to have company policies on facial hair So why are you asking here in the UK if you are in California- surely out beard laws will be of no use- why not ask the correct board where you stand a better chance of a correct answer? no they do not have to hire you they have a dress code and if you are not willing to meet there code then no they do not have to hire you |
