Is it legal for a company to pay min. wage on an employee's last check due to no 2 weeks notice given?

This happens all the time at my job and I've seen people leave with little to nothing on their last check.

No that is definitely not legal! And they could be in a lot of trouble for that.
No this is not legal.....I don't know what state you are in, but if their rate of pay was higher, they are intitle to that rate of pay for every hour worked. not only that , the law states that at the time of seperation, the employee is intitled to their final paycheck within 24 hours. You can contact your local employeement office for clarrification on these issues.
these matters are generally governed by state law, so to ask without mentining the state is not too useful.
No! This is against the law and the company you work for needs to be reported to the Federal Department of Labor! All it takes is a phone call or a letter to the Department of Labor! You can remain anonymous! No employee is required to give 2 weeks notice on a job. Do employers give 2 week notice prior to a firing? No they don't! Paying minimum wage because of no notice is ludicrous! Report them! If you don't want to report them, publish their name and location and I will report them!
