What type of law is the most flexible as work hours? |
I want to be an actress bu talos need a career to support myslef in case my dream doesn't happen? I need it to be Flexible. The most flexible work hours in the law field are those of an outlaw. I know a few people who pursued non-traditional legal work after law school but practiced law on the side for additional income. The most flexible seems to be certain types of elder law/estate planning. Meet with your client in the evening and draft the documents at night. I know some female lawyers who needed flexible careers after starting families have also started their own family law practices. But generally law is not a flexible/on the side career. If you really want to act, you might want to look at something else to pay the bills. Getting through law school and the bar exam is a full time job. That's at least 3 - 3 1/2 years away from pursueing acting. Anything that doesn't involve litigation is going to be more flexible, because you won't have to deal with court schedules. A smaller firm is probably more likely to be flexible than a bigger one too. If you are serious about an acting career, then the legal field is not what you are looking for. Becoming a Lawyer takes dedication -- and during that time you won't be dedicating yourself to acting too. If you are serious about acting -- try something a little lower level -- perhaps teaching. You can always teach acting, or direct school plays and put your skills to work. |
