Resume - telephone interview? |
i have submitted my resume to a few law firms. i have received responses and had a telephone interview. i did not meet the qualifications for the position i applied for, but the recruiter did mention that i another position would be better to get "in" with the big firm. She was going to check with the other recruiter for that department. (which was nice of her) I have not heard back from either (for a week now), but I did apply for the other position via email this week. any advise as to who to contact and when to? Contact the other recruiter and just mention that you want to check upon your status. Tell her you have applied for the respective job and you are interested in knowing whether the job hiring process still goes on and you are still in cards. Express your continuing interest in that job once again. http://www.cvtips.com/letter_after_inter... Source(s): Career adviser It is usually a good idea to always follow-up an online or emailed application with a phone call to the hiring manager. This shows initiative and that you are interested in the position enough to take the first step. If you do not know the hiring manager or the number to reach them you can usually contact the front desk or HR department and simply ask for the hiring managers name for position/requisition xxxxx. More often than not, the person you are talking to will give it to you or transfer you to them. If that is the case you'll likely get their voicemail. Simply state who you are and that you applied to position xxx via the web/email, etc and would appreciate the opportunity to discuss with them your qualifications. Provide them with a return number and thank them for their time. |
