I am getting a background check today?

and i have a misdemeanor for shoplifting.. will it show up??? Will i still get the job???

It will show up on a background check, and whether you get the job is up to the employer. Having worked as a CNA for a lot of years, I can say that you might not get the job. With a charge of shoplifting, I don't know that they'd want you in a hospital with access to not only patient's belongings, but the drugs also. I know you don't have a drug conviction, but A LOT of places think once a thief, always a thief, and if you got caught once, you're likely to do it again. Your past speaks volumes when it comes to getting a job. You can try, and I may be wrong, but I don't think it looks very good for a CNA job. I'm basing my opinion on 4 years of working in a hospital and another 6 at nursing homes. Medical field and criminal records (however minor) usually don't match. Good luck! yeah it'll show up. it depends where you are applying to whether or not you get the job.
Depends on how long ago, the type of job you're applying for and the circumstances of your arrest. If the job is any kind of retail work, probably not.
It will show up. Depending on the position for which you are applying, you may or may not get the job. It depends how lax their policies are. I work for a reputable big company and I know that they Do hire people with misdemeaners, as I have peaked into people's personal file. So, yeah, there's hope.
I hope you get the job.
Hi there, I am an HR Manager and it will show up but cannot be the sole reason they do not hire you UNLESS you lied on your application or your release to do the check, when asked if you were ever convicted of a crime. Now, if they asked on the application only about felonies, they may only run a felony check. Either way, if you were not accurate on your application or your signed release to run the check, that is an allowable cause not to hire you, Good luck.
No it will not show up...at this time. Anything that is still in adjudication will not show up. It will show up on a criminal history check. But it will state that outcome pending. But it would best you tell them. Because some companies will do periodic background checks on their employees. At least the company own does.
