Voluntary redundancy? |
Hi There I work for a major bank and over the last 8 months I have been hounded in my current role, because I have been informed that I am not proactive enough, do not challage people when looking for answers and do not volanter enough in my role. As a result I was placed on a action plan. I have documented details showing that I was making efforts to improve on these areas. I was then informed that I could not complete work in a reasonable amount of time. In May 07 I was diagnosed as having dyslexia. In June I had an assesment completed by Occupational health highlighting areas that could be improved in the work place. To date nothing has happened. Instead I was informed as the disaplinary process had already started, I could have 6 weeks before being forced out or opt for re deployment. My question is in view of the negative campain, if I opted for volantary redundacny would I be able to calim unemployment benifit Look forward to hearing from you. A claim for benefit would depend on how much of a pay-off you get and your National insurance contributions, but you could certainly apply for it. I am not sure how in your current position, you would be made redundant. This could only happen if the post that you currently occupy disappears. This does not seem to be the case. If you are not already a member of a union then I would strongly advise you to join one as I think you urgently need some expert advice on this matter. If the company have not taken up recommendations made by Occupational Health then be sure to mention this at any hearings and threaten to take them to an employment tribunal if they try to dismiss you.
