Is it aganist the law to have a mandatory work schedule and work for100% commission only?

I work 10am-8pm Mon - Thurs. 10am - 3pm on Friday. I am a Loan Officer in Virginia. I was told today that it is against the law to have a mandatory schedule that I have to be in the office to and from and not be offered a salary or hourly wage. Do you know anything about this?
Please be specific - provide links and or experiences.

Thanks!

Call the Labor Board in your state. If it's legal get a job with a bank if you are a licensed loan officer for a good salary, and all beneifts!
