Help when filling out an application for a job!? |
When feeling out an application for a job and it asks for any felonies, crimes, etc, should i put that i attempted to elude the police?....yea it was stupid but its in the past and i am only 17 at the moment and that felony was 10 months ago , but i really need this job,and this place just opened down here its hibbet sports. Only include items that an employer could find out by doing a back-ground check. If you eluded police and that wasn't in the conviction, or if there is no warrent out for your arrest, then don't put it down. Source(s): I managed a Pizza joint, and I did follow up on jobs apps, and performed back-ground checks. If some didn't list a misdemenor or a felony, and I found it - I wouldn't hire them, no matter how good I thought that'd be. If they are going to hide this from me, what else are they going to hide from me once I hire them? Ive never filled in an application but i suppose it is worth the risk. I wud have thought that they'd only look at ur criminal record if u committed a crime whilst in their employ. Good luck Do you know for a fact if they actually check driving and criminal records? I think they are legally suppose to tell you this and you sign a release or something. If they don't check...don't tell. You could have done much worse and hope you learned your lesson and have grown up a little. Good Luck with the job and hope it helps you become more responsible. If you have been arrested and convicted, than yes include it in your application but if you were not arrested and/or convicted than no because it will not show up on a background check. Just remember this every arrest shows up on the Federal Background check even if it has been expunged from the local, county or state database. Experience from the past We all do stupid crap when we are young and I think it's terrible that these background checks hurt people of their chances of getting a job and moving on. Sorry, but I have been filling out apps lately and everyone of them asked about felony convictions. However, you are only 17 and it won't be on your record forever. For now, if they don't ask, don't tell. |
