How can an illegal immigrant get a job in the U.S? |
this is a personal question and i know there are many anti-immigrants out there, so politely I'm going to ask you please not to answer. I'm a 24 year old illegal immigrant to the US and I moved here with my family since i was a kid, I was lucky beacuse my family had their own business and I didn't need to look for a job, but now things have changed, now i got to look for a job but in every application i get they ask me for my legal status? I dont want to lie, so my questions is what should i do to be able to get a job here in the us, or give me comments of how you done it . thanks ".....there are many anti-immigrants out there...." Wrong, there are many anti-illegal immigrants out there. Go home, get the proper paperwork, then come back. Or, join the Armed Forces and earn citizenship. Any answer advising you to break the law would be illegal. To be honest, you won't be able to get a decent job without legal status, and lying on your application put you in serious danger - if hired, you will need to provide a social security number and tax information, and if your employer suspects you're lying, you could be reported, jailed, and deported. If your employer is willing to look the other way and pay you "under the table", then they put themselves at serious risk for tax evasion as well. So if your career ambitions are higher than transient jobs washing dishes, digging ditches, picking fruit in the fields, or just plain crime, then you've got to find someone to help you gain legal status. If you have special skills that an employer desires, they may be willing to sponsor you on a long-term visa or help you gain permanent residency. Search the internet for immigration lawyers or immigration-assistance groups in your area. They can provide you with specific information for your situation. why not apply for citizenship and do it the right way?? you obviously have been here long enough to understand that there is a legal way to do things and anything else is not going to work... the truth is .. the only place to work is where most Americans won't.... so they'll figure it out eventually anyways.... The #1 question in my mind is why you don't want to become a citizen legally. I am not anti-immigrant, I am anti-illegal immigrant, and let me tell you, there is a HUGE difference. You have lived here for most of your life, so why not go about becoming a citizen? There is absolutely NO reason why you can't do that other than you want to enjoy life in the U.S with all the bells and whistles and yet still remain a citizen of another country. That, my friend, is just not right. In order to get a decent job, you have to be legal or you are facing deportation, and with all the illegal immigrant crackdowns, you are going to go back to where you came from, plain and simple. Contact an immigration lawyer and become a citizen. If you don't want to become a citizen of the U.S, go back to your country and stop sucking our country dry. hi check this link its useful http://workathomedataentrysites.blogspot... . I have to agree with all of the posters especially Dolphyn (except the last one with the fake work at home scam.) You've been here the majority of your life and you never applied for citizenship? Why? I know there are some pretty crooked employers out there who would hire you and work you like a dog for about a dollar an hour, but they are cracking down on those employers. Get your citizenship and stop looking to work here illegally. This is why American citizens are so angry with the illegals in our country. |
