Seravent....Class action may be to late...is there a lawyer??? |
My mother died from an acute asthma atack in August of 2003 after being perscribed seravent. She had never had an acute atack before and the doctor was going nuts trying to find out why she did then. Is there a lawyer in Gerogia willing to take on the case??? If you want to find good attorneys, yahoo isn't necessarily the place to start. at http://www.findlaw.com there is a place where you can enter your jurisdiction, and have your information passed to several attorneys. The SOL may be up, however since the Seravent cases are fairly recent, and the "knowledge" that Seravent may have been the cause is recent, your SOL (Statute of Limitations) date may be from the "date of reasonable knowledge" of the problem. Check with Personal Injury lawyers in your area. I'm sorry to hear about your mom, my son has asthma too. I'm not in Georgia, but four years is past the statute of limitations in most states. It would be easier just to call a few Georgia attorneys out of the phone book ask if the statute has run. If they say yes, there is nothing you can do. If they say no, ask for a referral to someone else if they do not handle this type of case. Also, try asking this question under Law and Ethics in the Politics and Government category. This Law and Legal section is part of the Careers and Employment category. This section is where you would ask about jobs in the legal field. There are several attorneys that frequent Law and Ethics under Politics and Government, and that's really the best place for this question. |
