Can a person with a felony background become an accountant and be able to obtain employment?

I cannot speak to the question directly, but can ask this question in reply - have you explored getting your record expunged, having the felony removed from the record. In most states, one can petition the court after you have been a decent law abiding citizen for a certain number of years (five is a good number) you can ask the court to expunge or remove the conviction from your record and restore rights to you like voting and being allowed to own a weapon. Sometimes the court says no, but come back in say two more years or so and then they will grant it. Having a felonly on ones record is not the end of the world. Obvious the crime and the circumstances (age, time and whatever) will all play in. If you are not a hardened criminal, reoffending, society will cut you a break if you are willing to ask for it.
