Criminal records check. will a caution show?

I work for the NHS as a admin officer, they want to do a criminal records check as i have acccess to confidential information. I have a caution which i got about 3 years ago when i was at university. Will this show on a CRB check? I have been told it wont as it is not actually a conviction, however if they do a advanced CRB check it will show. Is this true? Is it likely that a admin officer with access the confidential info, including about children will have a advanced CRB check or a normal CRB check?
Thanks

Hi, I work for the Police. The best thing to do is get a personal disclosure done first and have it sent to your home address and then you can check it yourself. You can go into any police station and ask for a Subject Access Request. Tick the box for a PNC check and the disclosure will be sent to you at home. This will clear any doubts you have.
No its only charges that come up and time spent in jail.
Yes it will always show on your CRB. However depending upon the details it may not matter as it is for an admin role.
It didn't used to, but I think it does now, especially if a job where children are concerned...following Soham Murders...depends what it was for...a minor offence no problem....sexual offence....problem
It will show up, they will do an enhanced check. An enhanced deal with any dealing that you have had with police on the national database, you wil be on there.

The good thing is that as long as it was nothing to with the actual job your about to do it wont be a probelm. You best off calling HR and having a confidential discussion with them about the incident that took place, trust me they have heard all kinds of stories arounds CRBs you wont be the only one, dont worry.

Good Luck
it will show up. i have a assault caution 2 years ago and i applied 2 be a home care worker and it showed up when they received it - still got the job though!

good luck
