What to tell the employeer if you cant find your proof of education? |
I am trying to get into a job, and was notified by the employer I am seeking,That they can not find proof that I took my GED.That they called even the department of education in the state were I said I have taken the test and they have no documents to support it. I had called the Department of institute in the state that i had took it from and explained to them I needed to obtain a copy of my GED certificate that I had took 10years ago. They told me there was no verification that I took such test. I know have to tell the employee with even my attempt I can not even obtain any proof. I know I took my test and I had lost it a long time ago. but, now I dont know what to tell the employer as far as What other options can I take to start the job, with suggesting I can take a test here in the state that I am in now. "but without sounding to the employer that I had never had a GED before" like I said I know I took it but now there is no proof, so what I DO ? HELP! Tell your employer that you could not get the proof either and ask him what he would like you to do since you cannot obtain the verification. If he hesitates assure him that you did take the GED and pass it and that you would be willing to take the test where you are now so that you also have proof that you have passed. And no matter what happens, take the test where you are now and keep the proof handy. Even if he says you don't need it, take it in when you get it so that a copy is in your files. I agree, explain the situation to the employer and offer to take the test again if necessary. That's the best option I can think of in your present situation. wish i could help u out i am having the same problem i took the test first time failed it then enrolled in a class then passed it grew up married two times at one point my house burned and now i am unempolyed looking for a job an the school has no proof i passed the test but they have the one i failed It! I dont have the time to go back to school either i need a job now! I had this problem many moons ago (I took the GED back in the 80's.) After obtaining my BA I burned the damn thing hoping to never look back just to find that I still needed it when I applied to law school a few years back. Took me about a year to obtain, but the problem was they had spelled my name incorrectly in the system and my SS number was off by 1 digit. If you have the exact or on or about date you took the exam and location it should make it a little easier for them to locate. That information is definitely stored in a database if it was only ten years ago. |
