Is there a good guide for writting legal documents?

such as pleadings, discovery, motions?

Yes there are. Matthew Bender's is a good resource (Pleading and Practice). If you're in California, there is "The Rutter Group's Civil Procedure Before Trial" and also CEB's Action Guides.

Oh, and you can find these books at your local law library. If you tell me which state and county you're located in, I can probably find the link for you.
