How can I quit my job that I have been at for the past month without burning bridges? |
I am a college student and had to change my class schedule at last minute so it will definitely be in conflict with my work schedule. Due to this it will not be possible for me to stay at my job any longer or give a 2 weeks notice because school starts in 2 days. I feel bad because my boss and co-workers are great people. go straight to the boss and tell him the situation...maybe they like you enough to work around it. you know you have a phone? come on its a job, its not like they owe you anything. yell your boss what you said here. good luck honesty to your employer is always the best. Go to your boss and explain about school and your needs, explain that you are trying to improve yourself as a person AS WELL AS a better employee to them and ask if they can work around your school schedule. If they can't then politely inform the boss that "while you value your job there, this is something you must do" if it can't be worked out then shake your bosses hand and tell them you have enjoyed working with all of them but you have to leave, maybe even offer to help find someone to replace you. a little courtesy goes a long way and you might find that u will have a re-hire status that will allow you to come back when your classes schedule changes Go to your Boss and say I'm giving my two week notice as of today. If you give notice no bridges will be burned. |
