Which looks better on a law graduate's resume - being on a journal or working as a research assistant?

I can only do one of these, since they are both time-consuming and I have other demands on my time (namely, a husband and a 2-year-old). I'd like the money, but I also would like the prestige of the journal. Thanks for your thoughts!

It also depends on what you want to do after you graduate from law school. Do you want to clerk for a judge? If so, they may prefer law journal.
Well i would think maybe trying the research assistant, i think it carry more weight, than being on a journal.
It may depend on the specialty within the law that you are interested in and the particular law school that you will be at ending.

If one does not seem more advantageous then go for the paying job.
You can learn research skills in a clinic or in an internship. What many firms, judges, organizations look for is journal experience because that reflects something unique about the person. Go for the journal!!
You, know, I really don't know which, but I do know a few things.

One is that prestige is what employers offer you in lieu of pay.

Another is that from my law school class, NOT ONE person on law review or the dean's list passed the bar on the first attempt.

I practice solo. I didn't really look that closely at my resume when I hired me.
