Which type of lawyers have the best salary's? |
Which kind of lawyers(criminal, real estate,..) make the most money? Those that don't aim for the money. If you are in it for the money, you won't be good enough to command that money. But if you are doing something you love, for which you have passion, you will succeed. I went to law school with people who are doing medical malpractice, personal injury, and regulatory (tax, insurance) and have great reputations, commanding top dollar. The common thread - each has found his/her calling. Another friend does personal injury, hates it, and doesn't do as well. Finally, law requires top-notch writing skills. No matter what area of concentration, it is all about writing, not oral arguments. No matter what they show on TV, most cases are won/lost on WRITTEN arguments. In fact, most never have meaningful oral arguments or live trials. Most hearings start out with, "I've read the briefs, and..." from the Judge. So anyone who is looking for the best "salary's" is going to fail. Before you even think about law, you need some writing skills. The plural of salary is "salaries." The apostrophe is not used to make something plural. Ever. And the salary is not possessive in your statement. Lawyers should really be "lawyer" in your question, as "type" is singular, and the two words need to match. "Have" is a lazy word. It shows no action. The statement should be active. "Earns" is more appropriate. And "best" is not what you really mean. You mean "highest." Law is based upon very technical, exact wording. Without it, you'll be too busy defending malpractice cases to earn any money. And if you don't like someone coming down hard on what you've written, then again, law is not for you. You won't earn anything. You need to have a stiff demeanor, absorb the blows, and come back swinging. (I did not have that disposition, hated practicing, and have moved on to something else.) Generally Corporate attorneys or Patent/IP attorneys make the most -- especially when working in larger firms. Right now Real Estate... with the high rate of Foreclosures... means $$$ I would say Personal injury lawyers have the most potential to earn big bucks especially if they get involved with large class action law suits, because they make a percentage of the settlement usually, but any lawyer can make a mountain of money if they are good at what they do and either make a lot of money for the firm they work for or simply build a reputation as a lawyer that knows how to win a case. Patent law, and Company (commercial, tax) law are the highest paid. Criminal law is not well paid because most criminals are poor. High pay is where big money is involved. Personal Injury! We sue a lot of ins. companies Criminal law pays more. We fight for your constitutional rights. You can't beat that pay!!! |
