Crime scene investigator? |
im thinking about becoming a crime scene investigator like the ones on csi...what kind of schooling would i need....any links? Depending on where you work you have to determine whether there are civilian positions available for the type of work you are interested. In many areas the people that actually process the scene are law enforcement personel that are trained to process a crime scene. However, the people that actually process the evidence in the crime labs are civilians that are trained in that specifc field (ballistics, latent prints etc.). A four year degree in either Biology or Chemistry will be beneficial if not mandatory in some areas. Many universities across the country offer forensic evidence classes as well. Keep in mind that it is a very competitive fields since shows like CSI have come out. well criminal justice for sure. but you do know that a real CSI is absolutely nothing like what you see on CSI the show right? I love that show by the way Can you handle dead body? The real job is probably nothing like what you see on TV. For the most part it is a boring and repetitive job, not to mention long hours and tight deadline. Can you hand all the stress? If you have the personality, then go for it. There is a website which might give you some additional information. Good Luck! http://www.crime-scene-investigator.net/... |
