I have a fenoly which is ten years old for controlled substance? |
how do i get it expounged and will it afecct me from practiing i am a psyc. major want to do clinical will i get licenced with this on my record. You should check the requirements for licensing in the state(s) where you want to practice psychology when you graduate. I think you will discover that the requirements are generally very strict and the felony will keep you from getting approved. If this is the case, it would be to your advantage to change your major now and pursue a career where officials or employers place less emphasis on a criminal past. / you have to get a lawyer in order to try to get it exsponged...but I will tell you this I work for a Police Dept and run RAP sheets on people all day, even when they say they had stuff exsponged it still shows it to me. It only works for minor jobs such as wal mart or something like that. But if you are going to work in the government or high security job it will always follow you... Good Luck You cannot ever get a "fenoly" (or a felony) taken off your record. While the law allows for it technically, most state and Federal statutes don't permit expungement except in very specific cases. Or if you pay a lawyer enough money. If it's a Federal offense it'll cost you about $20,000 ($400 per state)... Sorry. http://www.removeit.org/?gclid=clkr6y7yl... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/felony... Sorry, you can't go back and change what really happened. It is just like a credit report - you can clean it up to the best of your ability, but your credit history will not go away. You need to have a serious talk with someone in the industry in an HR capacity - I would hate to see you go through all the schooling and not be able to practice. Controlled substance is probably the worst felony for the field you want to get into. First, understand that expoungement is a fancy way of saying that your criminal conviction is no longer open to the public. So while I as a private citizen could no longer go to the courts and get copies of your casefile it would still be available to government agencies and background service providers. This is not something that will ever completely dissappear, but it is possible to work around it. When asked if you've been convicted of a felony answer truthfully. Keep the initial answer brief then focus on the fact that you've been clean for X number of years and explain what you've done and are currently doing to grow from this experience and not fall into relapse. Whatever you do, don't lie or try to mislead them. Always assume that what you will do is going to be discovered. If you tell the truth you MAY NOT be hired, but if you lie you WILL NOT get hired. Understand the difference? Contact your state's employment security agencency. They will have resources and training available to help you get employed in your chosen career field despite your criminal conviction. Good Luck.
