Urgent! My brother has applied at the city hall in our town 3 x's he's was qualified for the jobs the problem |
is after getting interviewed every time he's been called back for a second interview everytime but he hasn't gotten the job he noticed that all the city workers are female so he feels he's been discriminated because he's a man can he do something about this? That is a pretty serious accusation and one that I don't think he has enough information to support. He should call the person who most recently interviewed him and ask why he was passed over and what he can do differently next time. If it is a position that required he take a civil service test, they go mostly on the scores unless someone is a felon or really messes up the interview. They aren't as big on filling "quotas" any longer since there are a lot of people from protected classes who are qualified. Honestly, he should find out what he can do better and move on - if he raises hell with the city, he will lose. They are a lot bigger than him and he is the one who needs a job. Edit - Strange, but maybe they are all more qualified than him. Part of the hiring process is to hire someone who has the skills, background of experience, but also "will this person be a good fit for our company". Will your personality, goals, and work ethic fit in with the people they already have working there. If you hire a personality type that is going to clash with the existing staff then you have a disaster in the making. I don't know the reasons why they did not hire your brother for the job but it could be a number of factors. They may feel that his personality would not mesh with the other employees already working for them. |
