What are the minimum yearly educational requirements for lawyers in california?

I need to know what are the ongoing educational requirements for attorneys in california

25 hours every three years. Source(s): Law firm administration
25 hours, every 3 years, but 6 of those hours have to be in specialized classes/courses. Also, 1/2 of the 25 hours (12.5 hours) can be self-study so you can borrow MCLE books/tapes/CDs from the local law library and read/listen to them for the self-study hours.

MCLE "Regular" Requirement

Total hours required every three years: 25 hours

* Maximum "self-study" hours: 12.5 hours
* Members must fulfill at least one-half of their MCLE requirement with activities approved for "participatory" MCLE credit. (See FAQs)
* Special Requirements within the total hours required (may be taken as participatory or self-study):
o Legal Ethics: 4 hours (required)
o Detection/Prevention of Substance Abuse: 1 hour (required)
o Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession: 1 hour (required)

Also, if you need to know which compliance group you fall in, it's based upon the last name.
