When you resign from a job? |
and you still have vacation time, sick days left and money for tuition that you recieved instead of a raise are you able to get reibursed for any of that once you leave the job? Vacation time yes, it is already earned Sick days is questionable it would depend on their policy Tuition, no that was for schooling only, and usually reimbursed upon completion (and passing) of a course It all depends on the policies of the company. No one is required to give vacation or sick time - that is at the liberty of the employer. Check your policies and procedures manual, or with payroll. Payroll for 13 years! That would vary, not only by state, but also with your compay policies. I would contact the HR department and ask for a copy of an employee handbook, that should be able to answer your questions, and then to cover yourself totally, contact your local labor department and find out your state laws. Vacation yes for sure. I am not sure about sick time (I don't think so). And I am not sure about tuition. You generally can't get sick days unless you are actually sick, but if you have earned vacation time, you will get paid for that. I'm not sure about the tuition. It sounds like you've already been paid the tuition, correct? In that case, there would be nothing to "reimburse" you for, since you've already collected the money. Yeh i believe NIta is right on this one! |
