Is correctional officer a good choice for a career?

Is correctional officer a good choice for a career?

It might depend on where you live.

Where I live, they start off at $8 an hour, then after 3 years they go up to $15 an hour with benefits. They are short staffed, therefore they are required to work mandatory overtime.

If you think you can deal with prisoners, then go for it. It's much safer than being a cop, in my opinion.
