Should you resign from your job because you have work related injuries?

Should you resign from your job because you have work related injuries?

You need to talk to a qualified Workers Comp attorney. They will be able to assist you in making the best decisions on what to do. There is usually no cost to you if you are honest about what is going on.

if you can get money free, why not??
How serious is it? Are you asking about short term or long term leave? How old are you? Would be sad to spend the rest of your life telling people you are on disability if you sat on a splinter or something that was minor. Don't make a career out of it if it isn't serious. However, if it is major - then seek a physician. Get it in writing. Speak to your Human Resources Department about compensation or time off for recovery. If VERY SERIOUS and your company does not respond - then seek and attorney. However, your health is priceless - don't make it into a career if isn't not really true. Your life would be very limited and you may miss out on some of the greatest things life has to offer.... Think about it and please be honest...
if you reported the injuries when they happened at work then you should be able to get workers comp or disability. However, if you did not report them then you're screwed.
No. If you voluntarily resign you lose all rights to workers comp insurance.

Are you under a doctors care? Did you notify the appropriate people in the company of your injuries when they occured?

And finally, can you survive for 6 to 18 months waiting for Social Security to decide if you qualify for disability? (if in the US).

Personally, I would not resign, I would report the injuries and seek medical help.
Only if you think you can't cope in your present position.
You should try and hold on even if you ask your boss if he can find you a position that doers not put so much strain on you.I can tell you if you have some pain it can become a friend because you know you are still alive .
There are many people that have felt it is better to leave there jobs and stay at home most go crazy.
Do not resign and do not agree to anything. Go and speak to a lawyer who specialises in industrial matters or if you have one, talk to your trade union.
