Layoffs at work? |
There are going to be layoffs at work due to it slowing down. I have been working there for a few years. More than everybody else there. Only 2 of us girls out of about 15 are legal. Should i tell on the others to save myself or just keep quiet? Rat them out after being complicit all this time and You may be first in the unemployment line . > If they are illegal you should have informed immigration as soon as you had proof. How do you know if they are legal? It's 2 questions. Should you report them? Yes. Does it have anything to do with the current situation? Not really. Its not your problem if you are legal, they should have done better background checks before hiring the illigals. I would mind my own business and show how valuable I am to the company by working hard. your boss could face stiff penalties for this, and if he/she finds out you brought this kind of heat on him/her, your out the door, big time. Now, if your canned and you cant get un-employment money? then I would talk to him/her, and discuss a few things, you know what I mean? You should have reported them long ago. Forget all this tell on them stuff as, like others said, it could back fire on you. Working hard to prove your worth is also a good idea. However, I believe that the last to be hired are the first to leave is what laws mandate basically. Go to your states .gov web site to find out what applies to your situation. |
