Fired and they never gave me my last check?


i got fired on friday , does any one know the law on how long they can take to give me my last check i thought it was 24 hours after some one gets fired

In many states, the employer must pay you no later than the next payday. There aren't many places that require final wage payments any earlier than that. For example, Massachusetts requires the final payment on the last day of employment.
JUST GO TO WEREEVER YOU WERE WORKING ASK FOR IT IF NOT TAKE LEGAL ACTION.
The next payday. to cut a check within 24 hrs cost money that employers arent willing or legally obligated to do. If you got paid every friday then you will have a check friday.
Not only do yu have to wait for the next pay period.... if you had one of those jobs where you picked the check up the location.... you gotta wait for it to get mailed!
(At least thats what happened with every company i've ever worked for)

They pay you when the next pay check is run for all the employee. For example is the next pay check is run on next Friday then thats when you get paid. Don't worry they won't hold your paycheck its against the law and you can file a law suit.
Man I hated my job! My boss was a jerk and my co-workers just gossiped and complained about everything. It depends in what state your in. It took a month to get my check. They can hold it up to 3 months if they are investigating something.

Depends on the state. Some states require employers to to cut the check quickly, some states let them wait until the next scheduled payroll check is cut.

Your best bet is go to your state's Department of Labor website and check.
