Where can a parolee get a job in southeren california?

released from prison a year ago looking for companys who hire people on parole

For starters, it depends on what you were found guilty of. If you had a conviction related to kids, do not try to do any kid-friendly environments. If you were convicted of stealing, do not attempt anything to do with money/merchandise. If you were convicted of a violent crime, stay away from people intensive jobs. Employers cannot refuse to hire you simply because of your status, but they can refuse if your conviction directly impacts their business.

It's hard to know exactly without knowing your conviction, but here are some examples:

Conviction: Assault/Battery
Job idea: Try an Accounting Clerk of some sort where you are in an office by yourself keying in records.

Conviction: DWI/DUI
Job idea: Anything not dealing with drugs or alcohol and where driving is not involved. Hopefully, some place close to where you live so that an employer doesn't wonder if you'll be able to make it in to work on time. (They may worry that you would drink too much and not make it in, or that you'd miss your ride because you were hung over).

In general, here's two that could help (the problem with these, isthat many parole officers/systems won't allow them...parole would rather see you have no chance than some chance...don't ask me why - the system is just pathetic this way):
1) Find a "work from home". There's nobody to bother with these, and if there are no physical items for the company to loose, even a Burglary conviction shouldn't hold you back.

2) Look into temporary agencies: Manpower; Interim Personnel, ADECO. This is my favorite one. They frequently have a multitude of different jobs in different industries. I worked a lot with people on parole when I worked with those companies. As long as you are dependable and are willing to take whatever they throw your way, eventually, you can work into better jobs - by location, pay, and/or task.

Good luck on getting your life back on track!
