I actually asked my brother's who are both Baltimore police officers. They stated it may very well effect your acceptance. Keyword: May. Depends on the crime and when it was committed. They normally avoid accepting those into the academy with spouses who are felons because they feel the individual lacks trustworthiness. I know sounds dumb, but they make the rules.
