My employer is not paying me? |
Check is almost 20 days over due what can i do legal action?> No attorney is necessary as posted by someone else here. Contact your state Department of Labor. If they are unable to obtain your money (not due to there negligence, but the employer can continuously give asinine reasons as to why you haven't been paid yet) then I suggest you take them to small claims court. If you go this route do not forget to also include you are seeking reimbursement for your court costs which the small claims courts 99.9% of the time always reimburses to the plaintiff (the plaintiff being you.) call a lawyer; stop going to work for this person & get a new job! Don't go to lawyer yet, call your state department of labor and file a report. How awful!! Contact a lawyer for appropriate action to take and begin looking for a new job. In the meantime, if you are still at this job, send a couple e-mails regarding your paycheck and print these out along with any responses you receive. This will only help your case should you need to take it to the next level. Good luck! small claims court First report the company to your state's department of labor. If they can't or won't help you, file in small claims court. I wouldn't waste time with an attorney who is going to take part of your pay for his wages. |
