I want to be either a FBI agent or a undercover cop. Currently I have great grades in school. The problem is, however, that I am not that physically strong. I'm a woman and I have heard that could hurt my chances. Would getting a criminal justice degree help?
Great question! Actually being a woman helps at all levels, what will hurt is not being able to pass the physical tests. What I would recommend at this point is become a police explorer with a local department, when you turn 21 (some places only require you to be 18) become a reserve officer. During this time go to college and get your criminal justice degree it will help when you apply to local and state agencies and mandatory for FBI. Becoming an explorer then a reserve helps on your overall score with the civil service exams and you will get a better idea if this is the route you want to go. Most civil service exams will require you do so many push ups, sit ups and a 1.5 mile run within a certain time frame so these are some areas that you can start working on now and build up your ability. Oh yeah and being a woman gives you access to more scholarship opportunities then men get. Hope this helps! Good Luck!!

6 years law enforcement, this worked for me! This is the 21st Century. First of all, women before you have done the ground work for you. Yes you can probably be any thing you want to be. It is entirely up to you. If you are interested in Law Enforcement then get a 4 degree in Criminal Justice. Also, join a health club and improve your physical fitness. Your chances are very good in this day and age. Go for it. So, you have the smarts...go to a gym ask a coach to give you a program to get stronger. In 3 months you're going to be stronger...look out, FBI here I come..Be positive and go for it. Good Luck
