Career, Where can I start?

Hello, I am 20 years old! I am going to start college here pretty soon, I am tired of working for 8-9 dollars an hour. I am into law-enforcement, i have training in Private Investigations and have my certificate. I cant get a job because i dont have enough training yet no one will give me training. I want a better job, i work at fred meyers and im tired of it. Do any of you know where i can work, any idea's. I would like something in law or something close to that, i just want a job that pays really well so i can either work and go to school or just work but not have to worry about what my pay check is going to be next week. thanx a lot

Maybe a paralegal. Without finishing a college education, this is probably the best job to have to learn about the profession. These days it's hard to find anything above $15/hr (and that's being generous) without graduating. But being a paralegal will look good on your resume when you finally get into a position where you are qualified to make more money.
So you don't want to have to pay your dues?

While there are jobs that pay better, if you are into law enforcement, the best thing is to go through the steps the proper way and work your way up. Money may come from a tree, but it doesn't just jump off -- it has to be processed.

IF you want training, but don't want a 4 year degree, look at a technical school. But keep in mind that in the long run, the 4 yr. degree will eventually pay better.
My daughter is majoring in criminal justice and there are many jobs avaiable from low to high.
police or correction officer, little education, good pay, lots of benefits, you can make more work overtime, detail, or security.
just take a career aptitude test like this http://www.job--listings.info/free-aptit...
and see what they come out with, it's free.. then you'll know what suits your personality. When you know that, you can then look for a college etc.
good luck
