Exactly what does a juvenile and domestic court legal assistant do and for who?
If you are a legal assistant for the prosecutor, you gather the information about the family that the prosecutor and judge need to make their decision and you work for the court of law. If you are a paralegal for the defense, you gather the information that mitigates the charges against your client, and you work directly for the defense attorney and he gives you your instrucions.

I studied Paralegal, but not family law. Usually this is what goes on in family court.
