Uk employment law? |
i am unhappy in my current job and wish to leave, if i ask my employer for some time off for job interviews can he refuse. i live in the united kingdom. dont tell him. Tell him you have the dentist or doctors or take holiday. he can yes and dock your wages if you go and sack you. you will have to either lie and ring in sick, or do them on your day off or out of your work hours regards x kitti x Yes and you will then have all the time you need as they will probably sack you. The only time you are allowed paid time of work to look for work legally is when you are working a redundancy notice. Don't ask, just go! Best not to tell your boss you are looking for another job and yes he can refuse you time off....better to arrange interviews before and after work and days off. Yes of course he can refuse, you work for him and can't expect him to allow you time off to go for another job interview, unless his business is closing ,then its a different matter. yes they can refuse time off. I would co-ordinate job interviews on the same day and take a few days holiday Why would you want your employer to know you're looking for other jobs? Better to do it without telling them - take the advice above. |
